Be Still

"Be still and know that I am God."
~Psalm 46:10a

What is the meaning of "born-again"?

Check out what Jesus says in John 3:3-7:

"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born-again." "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."

All Christians are "born-again" whether they call it that or not. We were born spiritually dead to God (as a child does not know what sin is and will sin anyway), which is why we need to be "born-again", or made spiritually alive to God through Christ Jesus.

There are not two kinds of Christians, nor a degree by which you can measure your Christianity. You either are Christian or you aren't. Going to church, being raised in a Christian or religious family, being a nice or good person, and believing in God does not make someone a Christian. Christian means "Christ-one" or "one belonging to Christ", being a sincere believer in Him, being "born-again". A true Christian has accepted Jesus Christ into their life and heart as their personal Savior and Lord.
